Kyra Minturn

 KyraMinturn Sedgwickwas born on August 19, 1965 is an American actor. Her most well-known part is as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. In her role as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. After the seventh season Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended August 13th in 2012. Sedgwick is also remembered for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick received nominations for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian as well as of English descent. Sedgwick identifies herself as Jewish and has stated that she is a participant at Passover seders.
